Standing waves at vertically vibrating interfaces can be studied using stability theory of dynamic systems. Using this model, the goal of the work is to match the linearized theoretical predictions in a gravity-controlled regime to the results of an experiment, and then investigate the primary non-linear effects on instability growth. Choice of fluids and cell material is key due to the huge effect of sidewall wetting conditions. This work is done in collaboration with Université Lille 1.
